Project: SBH Upland Boardwalk

This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to:

Remove and replace the support for 178 feet of settling treated wood boardwalk at the small boat harbor.

Engineers Estimate for construction is under $ 100,000 .

Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 pm local time on June 4, 2014, at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, P. O. Box 307, Valdez, Alaska 99686. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, Valdez, Alaska on May 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm.

Complete sets of the bid documents may be purchased from Digital Blueprint, 903 West Northern Lights Blvd ., Anchorage, AK 99503, (907) 274-4060. Bid documents may also be downloaded from the City of Valdez website at http://www.ci.valdez.ak.us; documents are located under “Bids” on the lower right hand side of the opening page. Bidders are encouraged to download, fill out, and return the Request for Addendum form located at the link listed above to ensure receipt of any addendum issued for this project.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required.

The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause.

Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law.

Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met.

the renovation of the day tank and fuel oil distribution system, combustion flue, and hydronic distribution system in the City Hall boiler room.

Engineers Estimate for construction under $ 150,000.00.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Valdez Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the City Council Chambers. The purpose of the hearing is to take public testimony on the request from Cody Galipeau for a conditional Use Permit for a Planned Unit Development (PUD) located at 1585 Homestead Road (Parcel A, Tract 3, ASLS 79-117). The PUD would allow for the construction of two townhome triplexes on the south east side of the property.

The public is encouraged to attend but if attendance is not possible, comments may be presented to the Community & Economic Development Department in writing prior to the May 28th meeting. A copy of the comments will then be presented to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Submissions by email may be sent to: jvadeboncoeur@ci.valdez.ak.us

Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) is planning to open the following waiting list(s):

Applications for the waiting list named above will be accepted beginning May 12, 2014.

Applications are available at the AHFC website at http://www.ahfc.us (Find Housing) or our offices at 104-B Bremner St. Applications are subject to income limits and screening criteria. AHFC will notify all applicants in writing of the status of their application.
