Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 pm local time on September 18, 2014, at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, P. O. Box 307, Valdez, Alaska 99686. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, Valdez, Alaska on September 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required.

The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause.

Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law.

Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met.

Environmental Restoration Program

Five-Year Review

Public Notice – The Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) Environmental Restoration Program Office announces the beginning of the Five-Year Review process for the former Lake Louise Recreation Camp, near Glennallen, Alaska. This process will document whether the remedy implemented for the response action at site OT001 (Lake Louise Recreation Camp) remains protective of human health and the environment. The Record of Decision was finalized in August 2012, and this will be the first Five-Year Review for the site.

The Department of Defense (DOD) recognizes the importance of public participation in the Environmental Restoration Program and encourages your involvement. If you have any issues or concerns about the former Lake Louise Recreation Camp’s cleanup program, or if you have direct knowledge regarding the cleanup remedy, the Air Force would like to talk to you. Verbal and written comments to be included in the Five-Year Review may be provided to Ms. Lori Roy, Remedial Project Manager, by mail at 10471 20th Street, Suite 341, JBER, AK 99506-2201, fax at (907) 248-8884, or by e-mail at lori.roy@us.af.mil. The Air Force requests that comments for the Five-Year Review be provided to the Air Force by October 15, 2014. Another public notice will be issued informing the community that the review is complete.
