Invitation to Bid

Project: Meyring Park (North) Upgrades
Project Number: 14-310-5520 / Contract Number: 1196
This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
Removal of the existing fence and asphalt
Import and re-grade the area
New asphalt and fencing
Painting of court layouts and the installation of game equipment
Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00pm local time on January 13, 2015, at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, P. O. Box 307, Valdez, Alaska 99686. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, Valdez, Alaska on December 30, 2014 at 2:00pm.

Bid documents may also be downloaded from the City of Valdez website at http://www.ci.valdez.ak.us; documents are located under “Bids” on the lower right hand side of the opening page. Bidders are encouraged to download, fill out, and return the Request for Addendum form located at the link listed above to ensure receipt of any addendum issued for this project.
Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required.
The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause.
Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law.
Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met.

VALDEZ MUSEUM AND HISTORICAL ARCHIVE ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS VACANCIES
Three (3) vacancies currently exist on the Valdez Museum and Historical Archive Association (VMHA) Board of Directors for appointment by the Valdez Museum and Historical Archive Association Board (Valdez City Council) due to the expiration of terms. The term of office will be 3 years, expiring in January of 2018. Individuals interested in serving on the museum board are encouraged to apply.
Applications are available at City Hall located at 212 Chenega Avenue or on the City website: http://www.ci.valdez.ak.us. Applications can be submitted by email to email@example.com or dropped off at city hall. Deadline for submission is January 14th at 5pm for appointment on January 20, 2015.
This Board is the Museum’s governing body. The VMHA oversees the management and operation of the Valdez Museum under contract with the City of Valdez. Appointments will be made on the basis of the candidate’s willingness to serve in an unpaid capacity, on a candidate’s experience and/or education that may support and enhance achievement of museum corporation goals in preserving community history, in supporting community education programs, and in fostering economic growth in Valdez.

Public Service Announcement
The baler will be OPEN on Wednesday December 24th, 2014 from 9am to Noon, there will BE curbside pickup.
The baler will be CLOSED on Thursday December 25th; there will be NO regular curb side pickup. If this was your regular day, your trash will be picked up Friday December 26th.
The Baler crew will put extra dumpsters in the Herman Hutchens school parking lot for public use until 1/3/2015.

CVEA Bylaw Amendment Deadline
CVEA members may propose Bylaw amendments for placement on the 2015 ballot by filing a petition with the Board of Directors. Petitions must be signed by at least 10 percent of the membership and submitted prior to 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015.
