Oscar Emil Rasmussen, 81, passed away at his home in Anchorage, Alaska on February 5, 2015. He was born August 17, 1933 in Ludington, Michigan to Stanley and Helen Rasmussen. Arrangements are with Janssen’s Evergreen Memorial Chapel.

This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
Remove existing air compressor, piping, and hose reels and replace with new. Reroute electrical.
Engineers Estimate for construction under $70,000.00.
Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00pm local time on March 4, 2015, at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, P. O. Box 307, Valdez, Alaska 99686. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, Valdez, Alaska on February 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required.
The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause.
Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law.
Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met.

Request for Qualifications

Project: Civic Center Sound System

The purpose of this document is to solicit qualifications from professional sound system contractors to provide product implementation and construction services for the replacement of Civic Center sound system components to improve the functionality of the sound system. The Contractor shall coordinate the sound system product options and specifications, spacing / sizing of the system replacements, develop a project cost for City Council approval, and construct the proposed sound system improvements.
The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the required services in accordance with the standards of the sound system profession.

SOLID WASTE TECNICHIAN I
The City of Valdez is now accepting applications for 2 Regular Full-time Solid Waste Technicians. This position is responsible for refuse collection and disposal, maintenance of refuse vehicles and equipment, assistance with baler facility daily operations, as well as other duties as assigned. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. Successful applicant must pass a Pre-employment Drug Screening and Physical Fitness Evaluation. Range of Pay: $23.24-$31.63 D.O.E. per hour with full benefits. Applications and a complete job description are available at City Hall.
