Knife assault leads to charges against Valdez man
Police say victim was air-flighted to ICU in Anchorage
Valdez man Christopher "Levi" Harnden was arrested in Anchorage Tuesday night, charged with first-degree assault and tampering with evidence.
Valdez police filed a warrant with the Valdez courts after a 32-year old Valdez woman was found bleeding profusely on Dump Road in Valdez Monday night.
She had allegedly been assaulted with a knife.
"EMS units found a 32 year old woman bleeding heavily with a cut on her face," the city's public information office said in a press release Wednesday. "Valdez Fire Department transported her immediately to Providence Valdez where she was treated and transported via air flight to Providence Anchorage Intensive Care Unit."
Harnden, age 28, was apprehended in Anchorage and was awaiting arraignment Wednesday according to Valdez Police.
The assault charge is associated with domestic violence according to the city.
