Snow Removal: Several vehicle owners were issued citations for Impeding Snow Removal after leaving vehicles parked on city streets.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual who lives in the Valdez area by a family member from out of state. Officers were unable to locate the individual at his last known address, but shortly after the family member reported he had made contact and no longer needed assistance.

Animal at Large: A dog at large was reportedly killing bunny rabbits near a local business. The owner of the dog retrieved it from the area before officer’s arrival.

Lost Property: An Iphone 5S with a pink case was reportedly lost sometime last week between the High school and Bridge to Nowhere. If found, please turn it into the Police Department.

Disturbance: A caller requested officer’s assistance with a heavily intoxicated family member who would not leave their residence after being asked. Officer’s issued a Disorderly Conduct warning and provided the subject a ride to a hotel for the night.

Disorderly: A local business requested an officer remove an unruly individual from the premises who was asked to leave and would not. Upon officer’s arrival, the subject had left the area but was later contacted at their residence and trespassed from the business until further notice.

Possible Drunk Driver: A caller reported a woman who appeared to be disoriented and smelled of alcohol just left the area driving a White SUV. Officers were unable to locate a vehicle or subject matching the descriptions given.

Disturbance: A caller reported a possible domestic disturbance coming from a nearby apartment. Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined one of the parties was upset and yelling, but a physical altercation had not occurred.

Family Issues: A caller requested to speak to an officer about an ongoing issue with a prior acquaintance. An officer suggested they contact the courthouse to file a protective order and receive further information.

Lost Property: A gray wallet was reportedly lost in the Valdez area. If found, please turn it into the Police Department.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an intoxicated subject and two other individuals at a residence after an altercation had occurred between the caller and the intoxicated individual. Upon officer’s arrival, all parties involved were fine and no further issues were reported.

Drugs: Valdez High School requested officer’s assistance after three juvenile students were found in the possession of drug paraphernalia and contraband – including tobacco, alcohol, and marijuana. Investigation continues and will result in citations and criminal charges forwarded to the Juvenile Intake Officer.

Violating DVPO: Larry Hannaman, DOB 10/31/1975, of Valdez, was charged with Violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order.

Medical Assist: Officer’s assisted medical personnel with a male who was reportedly having severe back spasms.

Open Door: A door to a local business was reportedly wide open. Upon officer’s arrival, they made contact with a manager who stated they would go lock the door.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested from a caller who received suicidal text messages from an individual who resides out of town. Multiple attempts of contacting the subject, subject’s father, and the State Troopers in

the area were unsuccessful. The subject’s father later contacted dispatch stating he was fine, and he was in his presence at the time.

Noise Disturbance: A caller reported loud music coming from a residence nearby very early in the morning. Upon officer’s arrival, the music had been turned off.

Found Property: Two snow machine ramps were found around Milepost 59 of the Richardson Highway. Call the Police Department with further descriptors to claim.

Agency Assistance: An officer served a Summons to a Valdez resident requested by the Alaska State Troopers.

Property Theft: A juvenile reportedly stole items belonging to another juvenile. This case is currently under investigation.

Arrested: Amber D. Kilian, DOB 02/17/1983, of Valdez, was arrested on the charge of Domestic Violence Assault in the Fourth Degree.

Arrested: Dawson L. Moore, DOB 07/26/1970, of Valdez, was arrested on the charge of Driving under the Influence and issued a citation for Portable Breath Test Refusal. Moore later provided a BrAC of .125 at the Valdez Jail.

Open Door: A caller reported the front door to a residence nearby was wide open. Upon officer’s arrival it was determined no one was in the house and the door was secured.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested by another agency for an individual who wasn’t answering their phone and had previous suicidal tendencies. Officer’s made contact with the individual who was determined to be fine.

Found Property: A New York Driver License and Social Security Card were turned into the Police Department. Please call with descriptors to claim.

Lost Property: A wallet was reportedly lost, possibly in the area of Captain Joes. If found, please turn it into the Police Department.

Search & Rescue: Officer’s assisted a Search and Rescue team in locating an individual who had slid down a cliff in the area surrounding Brown’s Creek. He later called back reporting a friend had gotten him down the mountain and he was met by medical personnel and officers shortly after.

Motor Vehicle Accident: A caller reported witnessing a vehicle swerve into and hit a parked truck in front of their residence, and another vehicle in their neighbor’s driveway. The single occupant of the vehicle was determined to be heavily intoxicated, and transported to Providence Valdez for further medical treatment.

Arrested: Caleb M. Springer, DOB 08/07/1987, of Valdez, was arrested on the charges of Driving under the Influence, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Possess Liability Insurance. Springer provided a BrAC of .209 at the Valdez Jail.

Suspicious Person: A caller reported multiple large men just rang his door bell several times late in the evening, and believed they tried to enter the residence. Upon reviewing security camera footage, officers believe the gentlemen were missionaries.

Agency Assistance: A death notification was requested for an individual residing in the Valdez area by an out of state agency.

Disturbance: A caller reported arguing and banging coming from a nearby apartment. Upon officer’s arrival it was determined it was a verbal argument only, and a Disorderly Conduct warning was issued.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual who had not been seen or heard from for a long period of time. Officer’s made contact with the subject who was determined to be fine.

11-9-15 Valdez EMS responded to medivac request.

11-12-15 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

11-13-15 Valdez EMS responded to an individual with an injury. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

11-14-15 Valdez EMS responded to medivac request.

11-14-15 Valdez Search and Rescue responded to an individual who was disoriented while hunting in Browns Creek area. The call was cancelled while enroute, the individual was located by his friends.

11-14-15 Valdez EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

11-15-15 Valdez EMS responded to an individual who needed medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.
