Obituary: Wanda Ables
Wanda Katherine Buzzetti Ables passed away Oct 21, at her home in LaGrande, Oregon.
Wanda was born April 12, 1931 to Gioacchino Giovanni Buzzetti and Effie Lucille Kell in McGill Nevada. She attended White Pine High School, in Ely, Nevada. She married Lawrence Earl Ables and together they had seven children. Wanda lived in McGill and Ely, Nevada, John Day, Pendleton and LaGrande, Oregon and Valdez.
She enjoyed working and worked at Harris Pine Saw Mill, Pendleton, Oregon, 1961-1962; Eastern Oregon State Hospital, Pendleton, 1963-1973. Valdez School District and Pipeline Motel,1992 to 1996.
Her hobbies included crocheting, embroidery, having coffee with friends, dancing, quilting and gardening. She belonged to Our Lady of the Valley and The Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Earl Francis Ables; brothers; Benjamin Franklin Buzzetti, Joseph Buzzetti, Wallace Buzzetti, sister, Bernice Buzzetti Forman Abel; half sister, Amy June Buzzetti Webby and one grandchild, Chad Ables.
Wanda is survived by her seven children; sons; Boyd D (Sharron), Glennallen, Bill L. (Judy) Enterprise, Oregon; Larry D. (Diana) Hermiston, Oregon; Lennie (Carolyn) Ontario, Oregon, daughters; Linda M. LaGrande, Oregon, Karen Ables, Valdez, Sharon K, (Daniel) Bend, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; Cheri, Ben, Victoria, Shannon, Clinton, Justin, Janessa, Lindsay, Cody, Hailey, and Mason; seven great-grandchildren; Michealla, McKinley, Kyra, Alexandria, LeRoy, Margo and Leighton.
Mom, from you we learned of Christ and our Father of humility and tolerance the value of gratitude and appreciation; for what we had and what we have, for the value of family; both ours and all of God’s children. God knows we all need each other. Mom you were our gift, our strength, our rudder, our rock!
