Criminal Mischief: Vandalism to a gate was reported. This case is under investigation.

Possible Drunk Driver: VPD dispatch received a call about a possible drunk driver. Complainant reported the driver to be driving very slow and almost into the other lane. Officers made contact with the driver. The driver was determined to not be under the influence.

Drugs: VPD received a report about individuals doing meth in the Valdez area.

Traffic Complaint: Caller reported that an individual continually speeds down West Klutina. An officer made contact with the suspected driver. He stated that he may drive too fast at times down that street and he would watch his speed.

Vehicle Impound/Stolen: VPD received a report regarding a vehicle in the ditch and that it had been there for several days. The plates had been removed from the vehicle, once the VIN was retrieved, dispatch ran the vehicle through the system and reported that it was a stolen vehicle from Glennallen. This case is under investigation.

Agency Assist: VPD officers assisted with a trailer fire in the Alpine woods area.

Trespassing: A caller reported that an unknown person had entered their home and left their keys sitting on the counter.

Residential Burglary: A residential burglary was reported. Individuals had broken a window to gain entry into the home. Items reported taken were a hammer, Android phone charger and a small amount of marijuana.

Serve Time: Caleb Springer, DOB: 08/07/87, remanded to the Valdez Jail to serve time charges of DUI, Reckless Driving & Liability Insurance Required.

Protective Order: VPD requested a protective order be served on an inmate in the Anchorage Jail. The order stemmed from a Valdez DV Assault case in which the individual involved was arrested in the Anchorage area.

Aggressive Animal: A caller reported that her son’s pitbull attacked her sisters dog. This case was forwarded to Animal Control.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported that there were kids driving and riding snow mobiles without their helmets on, in the neighborhood. An officer made contact with the individuals.

Noise Complaint: A report was received in regards to heavy equipment that was running unnecessarily.

Domestic Assault: Officers responded to a residence to which the third party caller reported “they need police out there”. After investigating, responding officers arrested Jason Holt, DOB: 10/7/74 of Valdez for Domestic Assault 4th Degree. Holt was transported to the Valdez Jail and held for arraignment. Mr. Holt provided a PBT of .243

Impeding Snow Removal: Several vehicles were cited for impeding snow removal. Just a reminder that if you leave your vehicles parked in the street, you will be ticketed.

Assist Medical: VPD officer assisted EMS with an individual who had fallen in is bathroom and could not get up.

Vehicle in the Ditch: Officers responded to seven calls regarding vehicles that had lost control and ended up stuck on the side of the roadway or in the ditch.

Public Service: Officers gave a presentation to 4th and 5th graders about bullying.

Welfare Check: VPD dispatch received a request to locate an individual in Valdez. The caller reported that she had not heard from the individual which was uncharacteristic of him. He was later located at his home.

Assist Medical: VPD officer assisted EMS with an individual who had fallen in is apartment and could not get up.

Disturbance: A caller reported that the neighbors were yelling at each other and the male was attempting to throw the female out into the snow. Officers responded and gave them both a warning for Disorderly Conduct. Both parties were intoxicated.

Disorderly Conduct: Twenty minutes after the first report, VPD received another 911 call referencing the same neighbors still yelling and playing loud music. Officers responded to the residence. The occupants could be heard yelling inside, but would not come to the door. After several minutes the male opened the door trying to get the female out once again. The male, who was naked, became unruly and was yelling profanities at the officers. Officers placed Levi Terry, DOB: 11/20/87, under arrested for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to the Valdez Jail and booked in. He was later bailed out by a sober friend and advised that he was not to go back to the residence that night. No further incidents were received.

Driving with Revoked License: An officer responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch. While the officer was on scene the driver of a second vehicle, Justin Bedford, DOB: 3/14/72, drove up and parked. It was determined through a state computer check that Bedford’s drivers license was revoked. Mr. Bedford, was issued a summons for Driving With a Revoked License.

Assist Medical: VPD officers assisted EMS with a juvenile who was unresponsive.

Hit & Run Damage: A caller reported that her vehicle was hit sometime while she was running errands earlier in the day.

Harassment: An officer talked with an individual who stated that he was being harassed via phone.

Impeding Snow Removal: Several vehicles were cited for impeding snow removal. Just a reminder that if you leave your vehicles parked in the street, you will be ticketed.

Assault: An intoxicated caller reported that he had been assaulted at the bar and that the individual had just left. Officers made contact with several witnesses to the incident. Witnesses reported that the victim “had it coming” because he would not leave the guy alone. Witnesses would not identify the other party involved. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Neighbor Dispute: A caller reported that her neighbor was pushing snow onto her property and that the snow had dog poop in it. The neighbor said that he would remove the poop within the next few days. The caller said that would be fine.

MVA – Damage: A caller reported that her neighbor backed into her car. Information was exchanged and the responding officer will provide a collision report.

11-17-15 Valdez EMS and Fire responded to a structure fire. The fire was extinguished. A patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

11-18-15 Valdez EMS responded to a welfare check on an individual. The individual was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

11-18-15 Valdez EMS responded to a call to assist the USCG. The call was cancelled enroute.

11-19-15 Valdez Fire investigated a fire auto fire alarm at Hermon Hutchins Elementary. After investigation of the area, the call was cancelled.

11-20-15 Valdez EMS responded to a welfare check on an individual. The individual had fallen and needed assistance.

11-21-15 Valdez EMS responded to a welfare check on an individual. The individual had fallen and needed assistance.

11-21-15 Valdez Fire responded to a public assistance request for an individual. The individual complained that DOT had buried the fire hydrant near the home. The fire hydrant was uncovered and cleared with a loader.

11-21-15 Valdez EMS responded to a medical request at the Valdez High School pool. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

11-21-15 Valdez EMS responded to a medivac request. The medivac request was cancelled due to weather.

11-21-15 Valdez EMS responded to additional volunteers to assist at Providence Valdez Medical Center.
