This plan and committed adequate resources, demonstrates the applicant’s ability to plan to contain, control and clean up an oil discharge from the Valdez Marine Terminal oil terminal facility.

Potential Result: A potential risk exits of oil spills entering the lands and waters of the state as a result of this operation.

PERMANENT FUND INVESTMENT COMMITTEE VACANCY
The City of Valdez is accepting applications from citizens who are interested in serving as a member of the City Permanent Fund Investment Committee. Currently there is a vacancy on the board due to expiration of term. Members are appointed to represent the community-at-large. This vacancy is for a three (3) year term which will expire November, 2018.
The Permanent Fund Investment Committee consists of the city manager, the city finance director, and three members of the city council, three members from the community at-large, and an ex-officio member. The committee meets at least quarterly to determine general investment strategies and monitor results of the City Permanent Fund.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Valdez Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the City Council Chambers. The purpose of the hearing is to take public testimony on the request from Keith Hogarth for a Conditional Use Permit for a Mobile Home Court at 1500 North Sawmill Drive, Lot 1B, Block 4, Richardson Business Park. The property is currently zoned Light Industrial and Mobile Home Courts are a conditional use within that zoning district (Section 17.36.040 (J) VMC).
The public is encouraged to attend but if attendance is not possible, comments may be presented to the Community & Economic Development Department in writing prior to the January 13th meeting.
