Lost Property: A man’s wallet was lost if found please turn into the Police Department.

Parking: A local business called to complain about a vehicle parked on the sidewalk in front of their business. The Owner was notified to move the vehicle.

Driving License Revoked/Suspended/Cancelled: Kaspar, Susan Lynn DOB 07/17/59, of Valdez was arrested for driving while license revoked/suspended.

Criminal Mischief: A person called to state that their vehicle had been damaged and they believed someone had removed an SD card from their Security camera. Officers responded to the scene and took pictures of the damage. This case is currently under investigation.

Trespassing: A local business called to request that a person be trespassed from the property. Officer’s located the individual and informed them that they are trespassed from the property.

Welfare Check: A person called to request a welfare check on someone that was threatening suicide. An Officer responded to check on the individual. He was not feeling well but was fine.

Animal Impound: A St Bernard was found loose around the Police Department and was impounded for its safety.

Agency Assist: The Valdez Police Department assisted the Fire Department with a medical transport to the hospital.

Disturbance Other: A caller reported a man swinging a bat by a local business. An Officer responded to the area and the individual left the area.

Welfare Check: A mother requested a welfare check on her daughter. An Officer responded to check on the individual. This case is currently under investigation.

Disturbance Other: A caller reported an individual across from Safeway swinging a metal baseball bat. Officers responded to the area and spoke with the individual who was heading back home.

Stop FI: While on patrol an Officer stopped to talk to individuals that had gotten their vehicle stuck. Everyone was fine and no assistance was needed.

Agency Assist: Valdez Police Department was asked to serve a Judgment for Possession and Writ of Assistance. It was served.

Camping: A caller reported a mid 80’s two tone van camping in a prohibited overnight camping area. An Officer made contact with the individual who was looking for a place to park overnight.

Animal Noise: A report of a dog barking continuously was received. An Officer responded to the area and determined that Valdez City Code was not being violated.

Agency Assist: Valdez Police Department assisted the Palmer Adult Probation and Parole with routine Probation checks.

Remand: Hedley, Michael Joseph, DOB 09/04/1986, of Valdez was remanded to custody for probation violation and is still in custody at the Valdez Jail.

Remand: Barnes, Trevin, DOB 09/13/1991, of Valdez was remanded to custody for probation violation and is still in custody at the Valdez Jail.

Theft Money: A local business requested to speak with an Officer to discuss money theft. This case is currently under investigation.

Traffic Complaint: A report of a man sitting in the middle of the road flipping people off was received. An Officer responded to the area and assisted the man back to his residence and advised him to stay there.

Agency Assist: The Alcohol Beverage Control Board requested Officers check on a local establishment that is supposed to be closed. Officers made contact and found that they are remodeling the establishment and it is not open.

Threat: A person reported that they were receiving suicide threats via a text message. An Officer spoke with the individual and asked to be kept up dated on the situation as this person is not in Valdez. This case is currently under investigation.

Disturbance Other: An Officer was requested to talk to an individual who was making prank calls, carrying a big stick and yelling at staff. An Officer responded to the area and issued a Disorderly Conduct warning to the individual.

Disturbance Other: Multiple calls were received stating a man was laying on the sidewalk causing problems, cussing and yelling at people. An Officer responded to the area and issued a Disorderly Conduct warning to the individual.

Disorderly Conduct: A man was sitting on Hazelet and disturbing vehicles and people passing by. Holland, Michael Gallagher, DOB 11/22/1967, of Valdez was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: A person came to the Valdez Police Department to report that their vehicle had been damaged and wanted to talk with an Officer. This case is currently under investigation.

Animal at Large: A black lab with an injured leg was reported running free on River Dr. An Officer responded to the area found the dog and returned it to the owner.

Citizen Contact: While on patrol at the Small Boat Harbor a citizen flagged down an Officer. The Officer spoke with the individual and no further action was needed.

Information: An individual called to report that they lost their snow board on the pass. A driver listed it on Craig’s list as found and a third individual claimed it. This case is currently under investigation.

Civil Dispute: A caller reported that they were having a dispute over a dog. An Officer informed them that this is a civil matter.

Public Assist: While on patrol an Officer saw a broken down vehicle and stopped to assist. The owner of the vehicle had a friend coming and did not need any further assistance.

Agency Assist: The Valdez Police Department assisted the Fire Department with a house fire.

Agency Assist: The US Coast Guard called to report an individual had hit an icy patch and rolled off the road at MP 54.5. The person had called the State Troopers and a tow truck, no further assistance was needed but they wanted to report the incident in case someone drove by before the tow truck arrived.

Traffic Complaint: A black pickup sped past an Officer, who was conducting a traffic stop, at an unsafe speed. The Officer made contact with the driver of the black pickup and issued a warning for AS 28.35.185 Overtaking and Passing Certain Stationary Emergency Vehicles.

Assist Medical: The Valdez Police Department assisted the Fire department with a Medical Call.

Animal Aggression: While walking their dog a caller reported that a large black dog was acting aggressively towards her dog and her. They were trying to get away from the dog but it would not let them. An Officer responded to the area and impounded the aggressive dog.

Serve Time: Baird, Russell, DOB 10/25/1986, of Glennallen checked into the Valdez Police Department to serve time on original charges of Driving Under the Influence.

Stop FI: While on patrol at the Valdez Glacier Campground an Officer made contact with a person that was in the area.

Fireworks: A caller reported fireworks being shot off in the Aleutian Trailer Park, has been going on for awhile. An Officer responded to the area and spoke with the individuals who said they would stop.

Citizen Contact: An individual flagged down an Officer while on patrol to report his dog ran away due to the fireworks. The Officer patrolled the area in search of the dog but did not find it.

Fireworks: A report of fireworks at Aleutian was received. An Officer responded to the area but was unable to find anyone shooting fireworks.

Animal at Large: A caller reported that her dogs had run away due to the fireworks. The Owner called back to say that someone found her dogs and they were returned to her.

Assist Medical: The Valdez Police Department assisted the Fire department on a Medical call.

Animal at Large: A caller reported a problem Rottweiler that was out roaming the area. An Officer responded and found that the dog had returned home. No further action was required.

Driving While License Revoked/Suspended/Cancelled: While doing a routine traffic stop an Officer arrested Nicolai, Daniel, DOB 07/19/1959 of Tok for driving while license was revoked.

On March 22 at 1:55 pm EMS personnel responded to a reported of an ambulance needed at 116 Hanigita Street. EMS unit got on scene and found no patient.

On March 22 at 3:06 am EMS personnel responded to an adult male needing transport to the hospital. The patient was treated on scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.

On March 23 at 12:11 pm EMS personnel responded to the Senior Center for alarm activation. The patient was treated on scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.

On March 23 at 6:22 pm Fire personnel responded to 1840 Homestead Rd for a CO check. Building was checked and found no CO present at that time. Homeowners were told to keep the alarm active and if it goes off call the station.

On March 25 at 8:42 am EMS personnel responded to an adult male that was feeling ill. The patient was treated on scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.

On March 26 at 12:34 am Fire personnel responded to 325 Hanigita for a report of a fire. Upon arrival of the first engine crew was told all occupants were out except a dog was inside still. Once crews had enough present the fire crew quickly found the dog and brought it out. EMS personnel worked on the dog for several minutes before they could get it to breathe again. Fire teams quickly brought the fire under control and within a few minutes were able to have the fire out. Fire cause still under investigation. The dog did make a full recovery.

On March 26 at 9:48 pm EMS personnel responded to a 72 year old male having difficulty breathing. The patient was treated on scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center for further treatment.

On March 26 at 11:58 pm EMS personnel responded to an adult male that had been drinking. Patient was treated on scene and released.
