Animal at Large: A report of a beagle puppy running around making a lot of noise was received. An Officer responded to the area and was able to return the dog to the owner.

Citizen Contact: An Officer stopped to talk with a citizen at Safeway.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual who had not been heard from since April 28th. Officers checked at local Hotels. Complainant called back to state the person was in Fairbanks.

Traffic Hazard: A caller reported a boat parked on the street was blocking the view of traffic when pulling onto West Pioneer. An Officer was unable to contact the owner of the boat since they were out of town.

Transport Other: A juvenile was given a ride to a friend’s house after their legal guardian had been contacted.

Agency Assist: A caller requested assistance with the disposal of medications. An Officer responded and disposed of the medicine in the drug disposal box at City Hall.

Bench Warrant: McGee, Christian C., DOB 07/12/79, of Valdez was arrested for outstanding warrants on failure to appear for status hearings.

Animal Information: A caller reported that while he was out hiking someone took his dog. Witnesses stated that the individual was going to take the animal to the animal shelter in Valdez. An Officer found that the dog was at the animal shelter and arraignments were made to reunite the dog with the owner.

Reckless Driving: A caller reported a big silver truck with dual tires sped into town, crossing over the lines and headed towards the Betty Cato Bridge. An Officer responded to the area but was not able to locate the vehicle.

ATV: A caller reported a neighbor riding his 4 wheeler without a muffler at approximately 1-2 AM. An Officer made contact with the individual who agreed to stop.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported an older red jeep station wagon speeding down the roadway. An Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate any vehicle matching the description.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported while traveling inbound a Big State truck came up on her at a high rate of speed and tailgated her, then came up beside her in the opposing lane like it was going to pass then moved back behind her as they approached the construction area. This information was passed on to an Officer to investigate.

Disturbance Other: A man reported a woman riding her bike tried to flag him down after a full size red pickup tried to make contact with her. An Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate anyone matching the descriptions.

Disturbance Other: A couple had a verbal dispute. Officers responded to speak with both parties and they agreed to separate for the night.

Domestic Assault: A man called to report an altercation between him and his partner. An Officer responded to the residence, spoke with both parties and they were separated for the night.

Gun Shot Heard: Several calls were received reporting gun shots heard in the Small Boat Harbor area. Officers responded to the area and found a couple of guys who had been fighting. All denied any shots had been fired and nobody would tell what happened. No further action taken.

Disturbance Other: A woman stated that her boyfriend was causing problems and she wanted him out of the house. Complainant called back and stated that everyone was sleeping and to cancel the call.

Attempt Suicide: A person called to request an Officer at Dock Point for someone threatening to kill themselves. An Officer responded to the area and transported the person to their residence. They were given a name and contact number for someone to talk to.

Animal Aggression: A person went to do a home inspection for Wells Fargo when the Owner came out with their dog and it bit her. This case is currently under investigation.

Animal at Large: A report of a brown dog with a white belly running loose in Valdez Mobile Home Park was received. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but there was no animal matching that description running free.

Assist Medical: Officers assisted the Fire Department with a medical call.

Citizen Contact: While on patrol at the Harbor, an Officer spoke with several citizens in the area.

Civil Standby: An Officer was requested for Civil Standby in a Protective Order Case.

Protective Order Short Term: A Short term protective order was served.

911 Hang Up: A 911 hang up call was received from a local business that installed a new phone line. An Officer responded and determined that there was a system glitch and there was no emergency.

Agency Assist: Officers assisted the Fire department with a medical call.

Fraud: A local business called to report Fraud. An Officer investigated the case and no further action was needed.

Violate Protective Order Domestic Assault: A woman reported her husband was on her property without an Officer. The Officer made contact with the individual and he left.

Alarm – Panic: A panic alarm was activated at a local business. An Officer responded to the business and found that everything was fine.

Concealment: A juvenile was detained at Safeway for concealing merchandise. The parents were contacted and an Officer responded to speak with the parties involved. This case has been turned over to the Juvenile Probation Office.

Citizen Contact: While on patrol an Officer was approached by a tourist who wanted information about Valdez.

Animal Noise: A woman called to report a dog tied up outside all day and whining. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area to investigate.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual. An Officer was able to contact the son and everything was fine.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a child throwing rocks at cars. An Officer responded to the area and spoke with the parents.

Parking: A caller reported a trailer parked in the Small Boat Harbor area for more than 48 hours. An Officer made contact with the owner and informed them they would have to move the trailer.

Disorderly: A couple of calls were received reporting a fight in the Mineral Creek picnic area. Officers responded to the area issued Disorderly Conduct warnings to three individuals involved.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested for an individual lying on the grass. An Officer responded but was unable to locate anyone in the area.

Welfare Check: A caller reported two vehicles stuck in the Lowe River. An Officer made contact with several of the individuals involved and the vehicles were removed from the river.

Agency Assist: A dog was stolen from the Glennallen area. Officers were able to recover the dog and it was returned to the owner.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported a white SUV stuck in the river behind the Goldfields. An Officer responded and spoke with the parties involved. It was determined that everyone was safe and the vehicle was removed from the river.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported someone jumped in front of his vehicle and he had to swerve to miss them. An Officer responded and spoke with the individual.

Stop Field Investigation: While on patrol an Officer spotted an individual using a coat hanger on a vehicle. He stopped to investigate; no further action required.

Harassment: An individual called to report he was getting vulgar texts on his phone. An Officer spoke with the individual and advised him how to handle the situation.

Arrest Warrant: Bujan, Natasha Lynn, DOB 07/25/1995, of Valdez was arrested on an outstanding $5000.00 Valdez PD arrest warrant charging Arson 3, Criminal Mischief 3 and Failure to Report/Control Fire.

Littering: A report of massive amounts of garbage being left outside of the dumpsters in a local subdivision was received. Officers responded to the area to investigate.

Citizen Contact: While on patrol an Officer was flagged down to assist a motorist that had run out of fuel.

Agency Assist: Officers assisted the Fire department with a fire call.

Camping: A caller reported people camping in a no camping area. An Officer responded to the area and spoke with the individuals.

Citizen Contact: While on patrol an Officer made contact with an individual that was on the side of the road.

Public Service: Officers provided traffic control for the Bite Back 5K run.

Theft Property: A caller reported that he gave someone property and in exchange they were to do a job. The party left town before the job was done. This case is currently under investigation.

Gun Shots Heard: A caller reported sounds of shots fired in the Alpine Woods area. Officers responded to the area heard shots but were unable to find where the shots where coming from. They patrolled the area and continued to search into the canyon, no additional shots were fired.

Bear Related Call: A caller reported a bear near the city shop area which is where the runners will be running. An Officer responded to the area, the bear had left but the Officer made sure everyone remained safe for the run.

Aggressive Animal: An individual reported a brown dog trying to bite a guy who was moving scaffolding down the sidewalk. An Officer responded to the area and discussed the situation with the dog owner. This case has been turned over to the Animal Control Officer.

Criminal Mischief: A report of a window in a backhoe had been shot and broken was received. A similar thing had happened three weeks ago. This case is currently under investigation.

Bike Patrol: An Officer was on bike patrol in the areas of Kelsey Dock, Harbor and Dock Point trail.

Traffic Hazard: While on patrol an Officer came upon some trash in the road and cleaned it up.

Violate Protective Order Domestic Violence: Karrank, Sanwari Nora, DOB 10/03/80, of Valdez was arrested for Violating a Protective Order.

Animal Impound: A black and white Lapso Apso was found running free and turned into the animal shelter.

Agency Assist: An Officer assisted the EMS crews with a Medical Call.

Possible Drunk Driver: A caller reported a man driving all over the road by the Goldfields. An Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate anyone matching the description.

Domestic Assault: Rice, Dawn Marie DOB 6/21/89, of Valdez was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.

Agency Assistance: An Officer was requested for a patient that had left under medical advice not to. Officers responded to the area and spoke with the patient and medical staff. The patient agreed to go home with her sister no further assistance was needed.

Flood Watch: A caller reported water pooling in the Alpine Woods area. An Officer responded to the area to check the neighborhood and the Dike system. Everything appeared to be fine.

Problems with Neighbors: A caller reported that a neighbor threatened to have her dog eat the callers’ dog. Other verbal threats were mentioned. An Officer spoke to the individual regarding the complaint.

Disorderly Conduct: A local RV park requested Officer’s assistance with a group of campers refusing to quiet down. Officers responded and contacted the parties involved. The campers agreed to quiet down for the night. Officers were called back due to the noise level increasing. The park owner wanted them trespassed from the property. One individual was issued a disorderly conduct warning and the rest of the campers agreed to go to bed for the night. The park owner agreed as long as they stayed inside the camper. No further action was taken.

Theft of Property: A caller reported items missing from his house. This case is currently under investigation.

Violate Protective Order Domestic Violence: Karraker, Sanwari, DOB: 10/03/1980, was arrested for Violating a Domestic Violence Restraining Order and Unlawful Contact 1.

Possible Drunk Driver: A person came to the Police Department to report a dark SUV almost ran a car off the road on the way into town. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

Summons: Mitchell, Richard Allen, DOB 5/31/69, of Valdez was summons on charges of Improper Use of Registration.

General Contact: While on patrol an Officer was flagged down and asked questions about Protective Orders.

Trespassing: An individual was trespassed from a residential area for the rest of the day.

5-25-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

5-27-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual having seizures and needed medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

5-26-16 Valdez EMS assisted with a medivac request.

5-26-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Senior Center.

5-27-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a grass fire on West Egan. The fire was extinguished upon arrival.

5-27-16 Valdez Fire Department investigated another Wildland fire in the Mineral Creek area.

5-28-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual swimming in Ruth Pond needed medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

5-29-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.
