REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Valdez has posted a Request for Qualifications for Professional Services for a Comprehensive Community Visioning - Redevelopment Program. The City of Valdez will only accept submissions from consultants who have visited Valdez and participated in the mandatory pre-submittal tour and scoping roundtable. This shall take place Thursday, June 30, 2016. Additional time spent in the community is at the consultant’s discretion. Consultants interested in submitting qualification summaries shall call or email Magdalena McCay in the City’s Finance Department at (907) 834-3454 or email@example.com to confirm an Intent to Attend. Upon receipt of such notice firms will be provided with detailed instructions.
Qualification summaries are due Thursday, July 14th, 2016. Anyone having questions concerning the RFQ should contact the Finance Department at (907) 834-3454.

CITY OF VALDEZ, ALASKA
NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY PESTICIDE
The City of Valdez, Alaska, P.O. 307, Valdez, AK 99686, is applying for a permit from the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) to apply pesticide within the limits of the city.
Application of a pyrethrin based insecticide, Permanone Ready to Use Insecticide, EPA Reg. # 432-1277, to control mosquitoes and gnats will be made by trucks equipped with an ultra low volume fogging apparatus. The spraying program will be conducted by applicators certified by the DEC and in accordance with label directions and permit stipulations. All spraying will take place from July 2, 2016 to October 1, 2016.
This notice is required by the State of Alaska, A.S. 46.03.330. Anyone wishing to present their views to the DEC regarding the City's application to apply pesticide may do so by filing written comment to the Department of Environmental Conservation within 30 days after publication of the second notice. Anyone who wishes may obtain a copy of the City's application from the Office of the City Clerk.
The DEC will hold a public hearing on the application if 50 or more residents of the City of Valdez make a request to the Department of Environmental Conservation, 1700 E. Bogard Road, Building B-Suite 202, Wasilla, AK 99654, within 30 days after publication of the second notice.

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
A plan renewal application package for an Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan, under Alaska Statute 46.04.03 and in accordance with 18 AAC 75, has been received by the Department of Environmental Conservation. The details are as follow:

Proposed Activity: The preparation of an Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan, supported by adequate resources, which demonstrates the applicant's ability to plan to contain, control and clean up an oil discharge from the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. The renewal application includes approval of four volumes: Volume 1 – Regulatory; Volume 2 – Scenarios; Volume 3 – Tactics Manual; Volume 4 – Map Atlas; and TAPS Oil Spill Response Exercise Program Manual.
Location: Eight hundred mile Trans-Alaska Pipeline corridor from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez, AK.
Potential Results: A potential risk exists of oil spills entering the lands or waters of the state as a result of this operation.

The public comment period for this application begins on 7/1/2016 and ends on 8/15/2016. Requests for additional information and comments must be received by 5:00 pm AKDT on 8/15/2016. It is the responsibility of the commenter to verify that facsimile and email submissions are received by the deadline. The comment period may be extended in accordance with 18 AAC 75.455(d).

The department will hold a public hearing on the plan application if it determines that good cause exists.
