Motor Vehicle Accident with Damage: A white sedan was reported in the ditch on the inbound side of the road. An Officer contacted the owners who were getting a tow truck to move it.

Animal Bite: A dog bite was reported to the Valdez Police Department. The Animal Control Officer spoke with the victim, who was bit by a stray dog. Please remember to keep your dogs on a leash or secured on your property.

Family Issues: A mother called to report her daughter’s boyfriend was sneaking into her house on a regular basis. An Officer issued the boy a trespass from the residence.

Animal at Large: A large dog was reported running free. The Community Service Officer responded but the owner had claimed the dog.

Animal at Large: A dog was reported running free on Chena Street. The Animal Control Officer responded but the owner picked up the dog as he arrived on scene.

Bear Incident: A caller reported that their neighbor was out of town and a bear had gotten into their garbage. The baler facility was notified and the garbage was cleaned up. Please remember to keep trash cans secured or locked up.

Suspicious Vehicle: A business owner reported a white van parking was in their parking lot every night between 1:30 am and 3:00 am. This case is currently under investigation.

Traffic Complaint: A bus driver reported an orange van did not stop while the bus was dropping off a child. The bus driver honked the horn and the van finally stopped just beyond the bus. This case is currently under investigation.

Correct Citation: A man came into the Valdez Police Department to have a proof of insurance ticket corrected. An Officer verified he had proof of insurance and the time of the stop and corrected the citation.

Welfare Check: A woman flagged down an Officer and told him that her husband was not suppose to be driving and just drove off. As Officers were responding to the call the woman called and stated that her husband brought the car back.

Civil Dispute: A caller reported that a court order was in place and being violated. An Officer spoke with the complainant and advised them to go back to court as this was a civil issue.

Possible 10-55: A report of a grey sedan leaving the hospital with an intoxicated driver was received. An Officer responded and the guy got a cab. No further action required.

Driving without a license: A caller reported that an individual, who does not have a valid license, just drove past him. This case is currently under investigation.

Bear Incident: A caller reported that a bear got into the neighbors garbage and made a big mess. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area, spoke with the individual who agreed to get the garbage squared away or take it to the dumpster.

Animal at Large: A caller reported a black dog running on the highway towards the harbor. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate the dog.

Animal at Large: A caller reported an animal at large. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area and picked up the dog at large. The Owner was contacted and the dog was returned to the owner.

Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: Two cars were involved in a motor vehicle accident with air bags deployed. Officers and EMS responded to the area. An Officer transported one individual to the hospital.

Remand: Palmer probation took Josh Tucker, DOB 08/08/92 of Valdez into custody for probation violation.

Assist Medical: Officers assisted the Fire Department with a medical call.

Public Assist: An Officer stopped to talk with an individual who looked panicked, due to losing his debit card. The Officer helped him find it.

Disturbance Other: An Officer was requested at the hospital for an unruly individual. The Officer responded and the person left, nothing further required.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a juvenile. An Officer located the juvenile and everything was fine.

Public Assist: An Officer assisted a woman with trying to find a Vin number on her trailer for a title.

Civil Dispute: A woman gave her ex a bike and then demanded it back. An Officer responded and took the bike until the owner can pick it up.

Suspicious Vehicle: A caller reported two older men in a gray Jeep driving around taking pictures of houses in the neighborhood. An Officer made contact with the individuals who stated they are taking pictures because they are getting ready to build houses.

Animal at Large: A caller reported a dog running loose. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but did not see any dog running free.

Civil Dispute: A caller wanted police assistance with trespassing three individuals from his residence. An Officer spoke with one of the three individuals and advised them of the trespass.

Civil Standby: Officers did a Civil Standby at a residence.

Trespassing: A caller reported that a white Pathfinder was trespassing across the Alyeska ROW property and onto Copper Valley Electric Association property. No trespassing signs will be posted in the area. This case is currently under investigation.

Animal Dead on Arrival: A caller reported a dead animal. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area to remove the dead animal.

Citizen Assist: While on patrol an Officer saw a vehicle pulled off the roadway with their hazard lights on. The Officer stopped and spoke with the individual who did not need any assistance.

Barking Dog: A caller reported dogs barking. An Officer responded to the residence, no one was home; a warning was left on the door.

Strange Activity: A caller reported some teens were at Safeway when they were approached by kids wearing Clown masks. Officers responded to the area but the clowns had left. Another caller reported the clowns at the Middle School. An Officer contacted the individuals involved and told them to stop clowning around!

Family-Neighbor Fights: A caller reported he and his wife were fighting and he wanted an Officer. He then changed his mind and did not want an Officer to respond. Officers responded to the residence but neither party would answer the door or the phone. No further action taken.

Stop Field Investigation: While on patrol an Officer stopped to speak with some individuals in a white van in the dry dock area in reference to a call earlier in the week.

Vehicle in Ditch: While on patrol an Officer saw a vehicle in the ditch. The Officer stopped and found the vehicle had blown a tire. The driver had help on the way so nothing further was needed from the Officer.

Juvenile related information: A group of juveniles about 13/14 years old appeared to be harassing a group of 9/10 year old juveniles according to a caller, who thought they were taking their bikes. An Officer responded to the area and found they were all smiles and just playing around. All bikes were present, no further action required.

Alarm – Other: A caller reported an audible alarm coming from a residence. An Officer responded to the area, found the residence locked and no one around. Contact was made with the home owners and the Fire Department went into the residence to check things out.

Alarm – Burglar: A report of a burglar alarm was received. An Officer responded to the business and found the cleaners had set the alarm off and were resetting it.

Problem with Neighbors: A caller reported a women crying and hearing pounding coming from an apartment near her. Officers responded to the area and found a woman outside of a residence. She was given a ride to another location.

General Contact: While on patrol an Officer assisted a tourist who was lost and looking for a local Bed and Breakfast.

Theft of Services: A local restaurant called to report a patron left without paying.

Alarms: Due to the power outage numerous alarms were set off. Officers responded to various businesses in town to make sure the buildings were secure.

Domestic: A third party called to report a couple having a domestic dispute. Officers responded to the residence and the two individuals were separated for the night.

9-26-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual possibly needing medical attention prior to boarding a flight to Anchorage.

9-27-16 Valdez Fire responded to a possible oil spill/leak on Airport Way/Salcha. The liquid was cleaned up and DEC was notified.

9-29-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual having difficulty breathing. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

9-30-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-1-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual at the Senior Center needing medical attention.

10-2-16 Valdez EMS responded to a medivac request.

10-3-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-5-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual feeling faint. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-5-16 Valdez EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident. Patients were treated at the scene.

10-6-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Court House. After investigation of the area, the call was a false alarm.

10-6-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance at the Best Western Hotel. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-6-16 Valdez EMS responded to a local store where an individual needed medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-6-16 Valdez EMS responded to a Public Service request.

10-6-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a possible propane leak at a residence. The homeowner was advised to have the fuel company or qualified mechanic repair the issue.

10-7-16 Valdez EMS responded to a Public Service request.

10-8-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a possible CO leak at a residence. After investigation of the area, the homeowner was having difficulty with the monitors.

10-9-16 Valdez Search and Rescue responded to a hunter who had needed assistance while hunting. The hunting party was located and safely returned to Valdez.
