Domestic Disturbance: An individual reported that she was having an argument with her boyfriend and needed assistance before things got physical. Officers responded assisted with mediating the argument. No physical altercation had occurred, ongoing issues between the parties involved.

Agency Assist: VPD officers assisted the Fire Department after receiving a report of a possible chimney fire at a residence.

Agency Assist: VPD officers assisted with traffic control due the movement of a piece of equipment that took up both lanes of traffic.

Possible Drunk Driver: A caller reported that she was following a Red Ford Pickup which was weaving drastically, crossing the fog line and center lane. Officers made contact with the driver and determined that the driver was not impaired, just inattentive.

Animal at Large: VPD received a report referencing an ongoing issue of a dog running loose. Complainant stated that this time the suspect animal was trying to romance her dog. Officers made contact with the suspect dogs’ sitter who stated that she would make sure the dog stays in.

Open Door: While conducting routine security checks an officer noticed a door open at a local business. After checking inside the officer secured the door.

Found Property: Two bicycles were reported left in complainant’s yard. Officers transported the bikes to the station. The bikes were later claimed by their owners.

Fish & Game: The Animal Control officer responded to the report of a wounded eagle. An injured eagle could not be located.

Theft from Vehicle: An individual reported that someone had taken all his belongings from his vehicle. This case is under investigation. If anyone has any information on this incident, please call VPD.

MVA – Damage: A passenger truck pulling a trailer hit some ice just before the canyon causing the vehicle and trailer to leave the highway. A tow truck was dispatched to assist with retrieving them. No injuries were reported.

Theft of Property: VPD received a report from a caller stating that someone had taken their flatbed trailer. Officers made contact with the suspect who stated that he had permission to borrow the trailer. Owner says the individual did not have permission. This case is ongoing.

Threat: A caller reported that she was being threatened via Facebook.

Domestic Disturbance: VPD dispatch received a call stating that a man and woman were fighting at a local establishment. Officers responded to the location. The man was reporting that the female had stabbed him in the foot the night before. He then showed officers a small cut on his foot. This case was forwarded to the DA for review.

Public Appearance: VPD officers assisted the Gilson Middle School Government class with mock DUI arrests. Three students were each taken through the entire DUI process and classmates asked questions.

Fraud: An individual reported that her tax returns were rejected because someone else had claimed her son on their return. She was advised to contact her financial institution who assisted with her taxes.

Found Property: A knife was found near the Black Gold Park. Call VPD to claim.

Embezzlement: A local business reported that an employee had stolen money and knives. This case is under investigation.

Possible Drunk Driver: A caller reported that he was almost hit by another vehicle. Officers responded and found no signs of impairment.

Lost Property: A government ID was reported lost. If anyone has found an ID card, please turn it into the Police Department.

Vehicle in the Ditch: A caller reported that a car was off the road by the airport intersection. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was not impeding traffic and was left for the owner to retrieve.

Domestic Disturbance: A caller reported a man and woman fighting, indicating that the man dragged the woman back in the residence. Officers responded. Both parties reported that it was a verbal argument only. The female left the residence for the night.

Lost Property: A caller reported that he lost his bike a few days ago. He stated that he would look around some more for it and would let us know if he doesn’t find it. VPD did not hear back from the caller.

Animal at Large: A large black dog was reported to be jumping in front of traffic around MP 8. The animal control officer patrolled all the way to MP 12 and did not locate any dog.

MVA – D & Hazmat: A large tanker truck was reported to have rolled over at MP 42, resulting in a small diesel spill. The troopers and DEC were contacted for response.

Serve Time: Andrew P Christoffersen, DOB: 12/31/87, of Valdez checked into the Valdez Jail to serve 7 days on a DUI conviction.

Domestic Disturbance: A woman reported that her husband was slightly intoxicated and freaking out. Officers responded and separated the two for the night.

Domestic Disturbance: Officers were called back to the same residence as earlier in the evening for another report of the intoxicated male come back to the residence and causing problems. The female left for the evening. No other reports were received.

MVA – D: A driver called in to report that he ran off the road at MP 47. He would be leaving his vehicle there for the night and wouldn’t be back to get it for a few days. Trooper dispatch was notified.

Disturbance: A caller reported that a man was swinging a stick at cars and people. VPD officer made contact with the suspect.

Bar Disturbance: The bartender requested assistance with a patron who was kicked out earlier in the evening and was back attempting to enter the bar. The individual was trespassed from the establishment for 60 days.

Security Check: While conducting a routine security check, an officer made contact with an individual sleeping in their vehicle. The person had permission to be on the property.

Animal at large: A caller reported that another dog decided to join them on their walk. Caller does not know who the owner is. The owner of the dog arrived at the same time as the officer and claimed their dog.

Domestic Disturbance: A caller reported a fight between her and her boyfriend. Officers responded and determined that no assault had occurred. Parties were separated for the evening.

10-17-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-17-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Civic Center. After investigation of the area, the call was a false alarm.

10-17-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a house fire on Robe River Drive. The fire was contained and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

10-18-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-19-16 Valdez EMS responded an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-20-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-20-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual having a seizure. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

10-20-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a possible fire at Glacier View Mobile Home Park. Upon arrival the Fire Department found a control burn in the area with no one present. The fire was extinguished.

10-20-16 Valdez EMS assisted with a medivac request.

10-21-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the SERVS Warehouse. After investigation of the area, not fire was found.
