Vehicle Theft: Complainant called to report that they had been called by their neighbor and told their car was seen driving away from their residence. Vehicle was later returned. A juvenile suspect was identified and the Juvenile Probation Officer was contacted.

Theft of Property: A local business reported a computer had been stolen. Case is currently under investigation.

Possible Drunk Driver: Caller reported a vehicle had driven over the sidewalk while making a turn. Officers were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

Traffic Complaint: Complainant reported a vehicle had lost control while turning the corner at Hazelet and Robe River Drive.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a juvenile child who had gone home sick from school but wasn’t answering the phone. Dispatch was called back, the caller had made contact with their child and everything was fine.

Trespassing: Caller requested to have an individual trespassed from their residence. The subject agreed to leave on their own, no trespass ordered.

Possible Drunk Driver: Caller reported a vehicle driving on the Richardson Highway that swerved and almost hit the guardrail then swerved again crossing the center line and finally pulled off the road. Officers contacted the driver who was found to not be under the influence.

Assist EMS: Officers responded to a medical call to assist EMS. Patient was transported to the hospital.

ATV: Complainant reported an ATV was spinning brodies in the parking lot of a local business. Officers were unable to locate the 4 wheeler.

Assist EMS: Officers responded to a medical call to assist EMS with a female who had fainted. Patient was transported to the hospital.

Welfare Check: Caller requested a welfare check on an employee who hadn’t shown up to work. The individual was found and was fine.

Parking Problems: Complainant reported a trailer had been parked at the small boat harbor and wanted it removed. Officers responded to the area and found the trailer had been moved.

MICS-Prescription: Complainant called to report that prescription medication had been stolen from their residence. The caller was able to provide a suspect. Case is currently under investigation.

Animal Information: Caller reported that their neighbor’s dog keeps coming on their property and nipping at children. The owner of the dog had been advised of the situation but wasn’t keeping the dog off their property. The ACO made contact with the owner and issued a warning.

Welfare Check: Caller reported someone had entered their home and messed with their television. Caller didn’t believe anyone was still in the house but requested officers to walk through the residence. Officers cleared the residence and left. Caller called back and requested officers transport them to a hotel as they weren’t comfortable staying in the residence for the evening. Officers gave the individual a ride to a local hotel.

Fraud: Complainant reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be Publishers Clearing House telling them they had won 2.5 million dollars and a new Mercedes, all that was required was a processing fee. If you receive this type of call, do not give out personal information and do not send money!

Found Property: A backpack was found in the area of the Post Office, it had been there a few days. Call the police department with descriptors to claim.

Assist EMS: Officers responded to a local hotel to assist with a female complaining of a headache from a result of home invasion the night before. Patient also stated that men were coming in and out of the hotel window. Officers were able to determine that a home invasion had not occurred and that no one had entered the hotel room and no assault had occurred. The patient was transported to the hospital.

Disturbance-Other: Caller reported someone was banging on their door. Requested the person be told to leave and not come back the rest of the night. Officers contacted the subject and advised them not to go back to the residence.

Animal at Large: Caller reported a dog running at large. The ACO retrieved the dog and took it to the shelter.

Animal at Large: Caller reported a dog running at large. The ACO retrieved the dog and returned it to its owner.

Abandoned Vehicle: Caller reported a vehicle had been abandoned and the license plate was taken off the vehicle.

Found Property: A large amount of cash was found while employees were going through items that had been donated. Please contact the police department with the correct dollar amount to claim.

Welfare Check: Caller requested a welfare check on an individual that had left a residence and was walking down the street. Officers found the individual and transported them to the hospital.

Trespassing: A local company called to report they had detained someone who was found trespassing on their property.

Domestic Assault: Complainant came to the Police Department to report an assault that occurred earlier in the evening. Case is under investigation.

Arrested: James Vincent Heath Jr., DOB 02/10/1991, of Anchorage, was arrested on an outstanding Valdez PD warrant for Failure to Appear and cited for Driving with a Revoked License.

Assist EMS: Officers responded to a medical call to assist EMS. Patient was transported to the hospital.

MICS Marijuana: Complainant called to report that juveniles were seen smoking on school property. Officers responded to the area, saw one juvenile who then ran from the location. Officers contacted the complainant and one other juvenile, and contacted the parents of both juveniles.

Panic Alarm: A panic alarm was activated at a local business. Officers responded and found it to be a false alarm.

Possible Drunk Driver: Caller reported an individual had left a local bar and was possibly driving back and forth between two bars. An officer remained in the area but was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

Information Report: A local company called to report that a juvenile was trying to purchase a ticket out of Valdez. The juvenile was given paperwork for their parent/guardian to fill out but when the juvenile brought the paperwork back it was incomplete. The employee then witnessed the juvenile handing the paperwork to an adult who didn’t appear to be a parent of the juvenile and advised the two that it had to be a parent/guardian signing the paperwork. The individuals left the area without purchasing a ticket. The employee was advised to call back if they returned.

Traffic Complaint: Caller reported an individual was walking in the roadway on the Richardson Highway almost hitting them since it was dark outside. Officers responded but were unable to locate the individual.

MVA-Damage: Dispatch received a report of a vehicle hitting a light pole in the parking lot of a local business. Caller requested officers due to the vehicle sustaining damage.

Information Report: Caller called to relay information regarding a previous case of a hit and run resulting in the death of their dog. The possible suspect vehicle had been seen driving on and then parked on the same road where the dog was hit. Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle who denied ever hitting a dog with their vehicle. Case is still under investigation.
