Trespassing/Disorderly: At approximately 1:40am, VPD received a report that an individual was intoxicated and trying to leave a residence in a vehicle. Complainant also reported that this individual was being very aggressive towards them. Officers responded and eventually took Osvaldo Carrillo, DOB: 7/10/87, of Valdez into custody for Domestic Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Carrillo was held at the Valdez Jail. Mr. Carrillo was arraigned on 12/13 where he plead guilty and received credit for time served and released that evening.

Fish & Game: VPD dispatch received several calls regarding a dead bunny in the middle of the road. An officer removed the bunny.

Fraud: An individual reported that while he was in Anchorage he gave his debit card number to a person over the phone that identified themselves as hotel staff. The complainant later learned that the person was not employed at the hotel. The case was referred to Anchorage Police. Just a reminder: Do not give out your personal information over the phone when someone calls you!

Found Property: Someone found a license plate belonging to Terrence McCabe. VPD does not have any contact information on this individual. If you know him, let him know he can pick up his property at the Police Department.

Trespass/Illegal Tree Cutting: VPD dispatch received a report from a concerned citizen that someone had plowed a trail on a piece of property not belonging to them and cut down some large spruce trees. After a thorough investigation by a VPD officer, the suspect was located and the wood was confiscated and later donated to charity.

Lost Property: An individual reported that he lost his Ray Ban prescription sun glasses sometime over the last week. If you have found this item, please drop it off at the Police Department.

Assault with a Weapon: A VPD officer took a report from an individual who indicated that someone had pulled a knife on him at a local bar. This case is under investigation.

Fraud: VPD received a report from a local business that one of their payroll checks were altered and cashed by an unknown person. This case is under investigation.

Suspicious Circumstances: A caller reported that while he was walking his dogs on the ski trail, his dogs dug up what appeared to be a bloody sock. Officers responded to the area and investigated. They dug around the area and determined that someone had vomited and used their sock to wipe up the mess.

Protective Order: A short term Domestic Violence protective order was served in an individual.

Violating Conditions: Officers were requested at a local business where an individual was creating a disturbance and becoming violent. Officers made contact with William Baird, DOB: 9/13/82, of Valdez who was intoxicated. The subject was given a citation for Violating Conditions of Release on an outstanding DUI incident.

Suspicious Vehicle: A caller reported at approximately 2300 hours that there was a suspicious looking truck and trailer outside of an office. Officers made contact with an individual who was hired to do some work for the business.

Agency Assist: Officers conducted a UA test on an individual on probation.

Found Property: Someone found Eugene Kroll’s debit card and turned it into the police department. If anyone see’s Mr. Kroll, please let him know he can pick it up at the Police Department.

Theft of Property: An individual reported that someone may have stolen two rings from her in the last 8 months. This case is under investigation.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an older man who resides in Valdez. Officers located the man and determined he was ok.

Suspicious Vehicle: A person reported that a white Kia was parked in the snow dump area with its lights on. Officers responded and did not locate any one in the area and turned the lights off to the vehicle.

Impeding Snow Removal: A vehicle was reported to be impeding the efforts for snow removal in a local parking lot. The vehicle was determined to be broke down. Officers assisted the owner to get the vehicle moved.

Panic Alarm: A panic alarm was activated at a local business. Officers determined it was set off by accident.

Citizen Contact: An individual requested to talk with an officer in regards to a protective that was placed against him. He was referred to the court.

Motor Vehicle Accident: A vehicle was reported to have slid through an intersection and hit another vehicle. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were damaged.

Found Property: Prince William Sound College has two bikes stored at their location. These bikes have been at their facility for approximately three weeks. If you are missing your bike, please call the College to claim.

Suspicious Vehicle: A pickup truck was reported to be parked on Egan drive with only a passenger, no driver. An officer made contact with the passenger who indicated they had run out of fuel. The driver had left to get fuel and would be back shortly.

Disturbance/Unknown Issue: VPD dispatch received a call from a female caller who stated that they needed help because someone was freaking out. The caller could not give a good address and would not give any name information. After several minutes of interrogation by the dispatcher, a location was determined and both EMS and Police were sent to the location. The subject was transported to the hospital.

Impeding snow removal: 13 vehicles were contacted and the owners warned for leaving their vehicles parked in the street while the city crews were trying to remove snow. Citations will be issued on these vehicles if further instances are reported.

Traffic Hazard: A caller reported that a black truck was causing a hazard as it was parked on the side of the highway on the duck flats area. Officers responded but did not locate any vehicle matching the description given.

Motor Vehicle Hit & Run: A hit & run involving a loader was reported. Officers were able to locate the loader who hit the caller’s vehicle. The driver of the loader was aware that he had hit the vehicle but did not know the owner. He indicated he was going to contact the manager of the complex on Monday.

Theft of Property/Fish & Game: An immature eagle has been reported to be hanging around outside a local business. The eagle was seen taking a piece of freshly fried chicken out of someone’s hand as they walked to their vehicle.

12-12-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual in the Valdez city jail needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene.

12-13-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to fire alarm activation at the Mt. Sky Hotel.

12-13-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual at the Valdez High School having difficulties breathing. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

12-13-16 Valdez EMS assisted with a medivac request.

12-15-16 Valdez Fire Department completed a fire inspection at CVTC.

12-15-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention at the Best Western Hotel. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

12-15-16 Valdez Fire Department responded to Providence Valdez Medical Center for a smell of campfire in the building. After investigation of the area, no fire was found.

12-16-16 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

12-18-16 Valdez EMS assisted with a medivac request.
