Invitation to Bid

Project: Copper Ave Erosion Protection & Gravel Extraction

This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to: Construct four dike structures along the north bank of the Glacier Stream, downstream of the Richardson Hwy bridge. Excavate approximately 20,000 CY of native material from a dry area of the Glacier Stream river bed to create a diversion channel and stockpile the material along Copper Ave. Armor the new dike structures with class 4 riprap.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 10:00 am local time on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, P. O. Box 307, Valdez, Alaska 99686. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the office of the Capital Facilities Director, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, Valdez, Alaska on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm.

Bidders are encouraged to download, fill out, and return the Request for Addendum form located at the link listed above to ensure receipt of any addendum issued for this project. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required.

The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause.

Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law.

Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met.

Request for Proposals

Valdez Container Terminal and Small Boat Harbor Repairs

A. Overview

The purpose of this document is to solicit proposals from professional consultants to provide architectural, engineering, and related professional services for the demolition and replacement of the items listed for repair in the 2015 report which have been prioritized by the City. The Consultant shall conduct design and public meetings, provide information, reports, and drawings necessary to develop and communicate the project program, education specifications, concept designs and project cost.

The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the required services in accordance with the standards and criteria of the City of Valdez standards of the architectural and engineering profession.
