04/03

Citizen Contact: While on patrol an Officer stopped to talk to a person walking their dog. Everything was fine.

Traffic Hazard: While on patrol an Officer moved some traffic cones on West Egan Drive so they would not be a traffic hazard.

Animal at Large: A caller reported two dogs, one black and brown and a puppy, running through the City Hall parking lot. The owner was contacted and had been trying to catch them.

Found Property: An Emergency vehicle kit was found and turned into the police department. If you have lost one call the Valdez Police Department with description to claim.

Animal at Large: A caller reported two dogs running loose at the Ferry Terminal area. An Officer responded to the area and the owner had the dogs.

Found Property: A leather pouch was found in the Library parking lot. If you have lost this item please call the Valdez Police Department with description to claim.

Traffic Complaint: A report of a vehicle parked on the street and making it hard to see oncoming traffic was reported. An Officer responded to the area and spoke to the owner of the vehicle who agreed to move it.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported a person running a stop sign. An Officer responded to the area and spoke to the owner of the vehicle who denied being in the area at the time.

Assault Weapon: A caller reported a person was stabbed. Officers responded to the area and spoke to several individuals. Medics were called to the scene and transported one of the individuals to the hospital. This case is still under investigation.

Agency Assist: Valdez Counseling Center requested assistance with transporting an individual to the airport.

Agency Assist: The Juvenile Probation Officer requested an Officer’s assistance with a Urinary Analysis.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a woman that had bruising on her arms. An Officer investigated the situation, spoke with the individual in question and recommended some options for help.

Civil Dispute: A caller requested Officer’s assistance. The Officer responded to the area and informed the individuals that it is a civil dispute between landlord and tenant.

Driving without a License: While on patrol, an Officer saw a person they know not to have a license, driving a vehicle. Subsequently, Chelsea Nicole Pezakm DOB: 08/03/1994, of Valdez was issued a citation for Driving without a Valid License.

Fireworks: Several calls were received stating they heard gunshots or fireworks. An Officer investigated the area and found some folks at the harbor who where shooting off fireworks. They were told to stop and they agreed not to shoot any more fireworks in town.

Animal Impound: While on patrol an Officer found a black lab running free and took it to the Animal Shelter.

Public Assistance: A person called to request assistance moving a chunk of ice that fell from the roof onto a meter box. An Officer responded to the residence and removed the ice.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual. Officers responded to the residence and everything was fine.

Assist Medical: Officers assisted the Valdez Fire Department with a medical call.

Animal at Large: A caller reported two dogs at large. An Officer responded to the area and returned the dogs to the owner.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported a man with a toddler on his lap, coffee in the other hand and driving down the street. An Officer located the individual and explained the driving laws to them.

Animal at Large: A caller reported finding a puppy and tied it to a light pole. An Officer found the puppy and took it to the Animal Shelter.

Stop Field Investigation: While on patrol an Officer stopped at the Tideflats where three vehicles were stopped. One of the vehicles had run out of gas and the others were helping to resolve the problem.

Suspicious Activity: A caller reported someone messing around on the South Crowley Dock and heard a noise like fuel pouring into the water. An Officer responded to the area and found a water line ruptured. Crowley was contacted and they took care of it.

Suspicious Activity: A caller reported dogs barking, lights flashing at neighbor’s house and a Pickup truck with a Snowmachine in the back outside. An Officer responded to the area and found everything appeared to be normal.

Citizen Contact: While on patrol an Officer stopped with an individual who was looking for something in a snow bank. The individual had lost their cell phone and the Officer helped locate it.

Disturbance Noise: A caller reported hearing a female arguing. Officers responded to the area, spoke with several people but were unable to find anyone arguing in the area.

Suspicious Person: A caller reported two intoxicated people at a business. An Officer responded to the area and told the individuals that they would have to leave. They complied.

Animal at Large: A caller reported two dogs at large. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area and was able to locate the owners of the dogs.

Criminal Mischief: A caller reported a window in his loader was broken. An Officer responded to the area to investigate. This case is currently under investigation.

04/08

DUI: While on patrol an Officer saw a running vehicle parked in the snow dump and stopped to investigate. Upon further investigation it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Chayse Lee Brooke, DOB 02/27/94, of Valdez was charged with DUI. He registered a breath-alcohol content of .225. The juvenile passenger was charged with Minor in Possession.

Disturbance Noise/Disorderly Conduct: Several calls were received for a couple fighting. The Officers responded to the area numerous times during the night and ended up charging Brian Scott Lafond, DOB 1/12/82, of Fairbanks with Disorderly Conduct.

Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: A caller reported a motor vehicle accident at Bridal Veil Falls in Keystone Canyon. An Officer responded to the area and found a red SUV but no driver. The driver was contacted later; this case is currently under investigation.

Civil Dispute: A caller requested an Officer trespass someone from their trailer. Officers responded to the residence but no one was there.

Animal at Large: A caller reported a dog would not stop following her. An Officer responded to the area and the owner came and picked up the dog.

Assist EMS Crew: Valdez Police Department assisted the Fire Department on a medical call.

Possible Drunk Driver: A caller reported a possible drunk driver heading into town. An Officer located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. No impairment was found. The driver was looking at the mountains and will pay closer attention in the future.

Sounds of Shots Fired: Calls were received stating fireworks were being shot off in the harbor area. Officers responded to the area and found a couple of guys in the area but were unable to see any fireworks being shot off.

4-3-17 Valdez EMS responded to a person who was injured. The individual was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

4-4-17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing assistance.

4-4-17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual who had passed away.

4-5-17 Valdez EMS responded to a call for an individual needing medical assistance. The call was canceled due to the individual feeling better.

4-5-17 Valdez EMS responded to a person needing medical assistance. The individual was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

4-7-17 Valdez EMS responded to an agency assist request from Providence Medical Center.

4-9-17 Valdez EMS responded to a person needing medical assistance. The individual was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

4-9-17 Valdez EMS responded to a person needing medical assistance. Prior to arrival, the patient was driven to Providence and was treated.
