07/10

Theft of Property – A resident reported some Styrofoam insulation stolen from their residence. If anyone has any information about the theft please contact the Valdez Police Department.

Family Disturbance – A caller reported that their child’s other parent was attempting to leave with the child without permission. By the time officers arrived the parent had left without the child.

Bear Related Call – A wounded bear was sighted by the post office. The animal control officer responded to the area and did not locate a bear.

DUI – A juvenile was arrested for DUI.

Domestic Non-Arrest – A caller reported that their significant other would not leave their residence. An officer responded and the individual just wanted a personal item and then they would leave.

Fraud – Possible credit card fraud was reported. The person was advised to call their credit card company and request a new card.

Missing Person – A parent reported her adult child missing. At this time the missing person has not contacted family or returned home.

Disturbance Other – A caller reported that their significant other would not leave their residence. Officer responded and told the individual to find another place to sleep for the night.

Found Property – A large duffle bag with miscellaneous items inside was reported found. Please call the Valdez Police Department to identify and claim.

Domestic Assault – Arrested Kimberlie Killips, DOB 8/02/78, of Valdez for DV Assault.

Theft from Vehicle – A vehicle battery was reported stolen from a parked vehicle. This case is currently under investigation.

Vehicle Theft – A caller reported that their vehicle had been stolen. When the owner returned back from looking for the vehicle their truck had been returned to its parking spot.

Remand – Peter Brusky, DOB 8/2/54, of Valdez was remanded for violation of his probation.

Theft of Property - A black Samsung Galaxy 7 was reported stolen in the small boat harbor area. If found please bring it to the Valdez Police Department.

Suspicious Person – A caller reported someone following a bicyclist on foot and was acting suspicious. An officer contacted the individual and advised them to stop following the person and return to their hotel.

Curfew – Several different groups of juveniles were given curfew warnings.

Domestic Non-Arrest – A caller reported that a family member hit another family member in the face. When officers arrived no arrests were made and the individual causing issues had left.

Minor Consuming Alcohol – A juvenile was given a citation for minor consuming alcohol and released to their parents.

Domestic Non-Arrest – A caller reported that a family member was threatening them. By the time officers arrived at the residence the individual had left and was unable to be located.

Theft of Property – A local resident reported several items stolen from their property. This case is currently under investigation.

Domestic Assault Arrest– Arrested Alexander J Kompkoff, DOB 5/17/84, of Valdez for DV Assault.

Neighbor Issues – A caller reported that their neighbor took a sign off of their door. An officer responded and told the neighbor to not do that again.

Noise Disturbance – A caller reported two individuals outside yelling and screaming for awhile. Officers responded and contacted the individuals and they were told to keep it down.

Disturbance Bar – A local bar reported a patron was causing issues inside and refusing to leave. Officers arrived and escorted the individual to their residence.

Serve Time – Alexander J Kompkoff reported to serve time on his original charge of DUI

Possible Drunk Driver – A caller reported that a semi-truck pulled out in front of them and was weaving all over the road. An officer was able to catch up to the driver and did not observe and traffic violations.

There are still a lot of bears in the downtown area. Please keep your trash where bears cannot get to it and shut and lock dumpsters after use. Make sure any outside freezers are locked and secured.

7-10- 17 Valdez Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Peter Pan Dormitory. After investigation of the area, no fire was found.

7-12- 17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene.

transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center

Valdez Small Boat Harbor and then transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.
