Bear Incident - A resident reported a black bear munching on their neighbor’s garbage. Officers responded and found no sign of bear and garbage all picked up.

Home Confinement - Iam Cabitac, DOB 07/12/95, reported to the Valdez Jail to begin a three day home confinement sentence on a DUI conviction.

Sexual Assault - ames Paul Lewis, DOB 06/17/88, of Wellington, Arizona was arrested for Sexual Assault in the Second Degree. Mr. Lewis is currently being held in the Valdez jail on no bail.

Camping - Some vehicles with camping trailers and a tiny house were camped on the bike path. Individuals had gotten in late and were confused as to where to go.

Fish & Game - Animal Control responded to a call for an injured juvenile eagle.

Animal Neglect - Animal Control spoke with a pet owner about providing adequate shelter and water.

Fish & Game - Received a report of an injured seagull at the harbor.

Camping - RV’s were camped illegally. Campers were informed on areas were camping was legal.

Welfare Check - Officers conducted a welfare check on some children. Everything was fine.

Welfare Check - A report was called in of an individual slumped over at the wheel of their vehicle while parked. Officers responded and found an individual hunching over to block the sun in order to see their phone screen.

Harassment - An individual reported being harassed by a coworker.

Missing Person - A local parent called for help finding their child who had run off. Complainant later called back and said she had located her child.

Child Custody Dispute - Officers intervened in a child custody dispute.

Hazardous Materials Spill - Responders found a vehicle that was pouring out oil on the pavement. Oil was cleaned up.

Domestic - Officers responded to a domestic violence call, determined the event to be verbal only. Officers provided transportation for one involved party.

Strange Activity - Report someone went through their vehicle while it was parked at a local business. Nothing was taken. Complainant was advised to lock their vehicle.

Welfare Check - Officers performed a welfare check on an individual. The officer transported the individual to the hospital.

911 Hang Up - Dispatch received a 911 hang up call from a local residence. Officers stopped by the home to make sure all was well.

Bar Disturbance - A fight broke out at a local bar. Police responded to break it up.

DWLR - Report of an individual driving without a license. Individual not located.

Concealment - A local establishment reported an individual opened a beverage in their store and then left. Officers responded and worked it out between the subject and the establishment.

ETOH Pedestrian - It was reported that there was an intoxicated person passed out in a public restroom. Responders were able to wake the individual up and send them on their way.

Burglar Alarm - A burglar alarm was set off at a local establishment. Officers responded and found a helium balloon that had gotten blown around by the ventilation system and disturbed the alarm censors.

Traffic Hazard - Officer fixed a traffic hazard on a local bridge.

Assist EMS - Police assisted the EMS crew with a disoriented individual in need of transport to the hospital.

ETOH Pedestrian - A highly intoxicated individual called dispatch requesting assistance. Police and EMS responded and transported the subject to the hospital.

08/20

Minor on Premises - A minor refused to leave a local bar when instructed to do so. The individual and a group of folks left as police arrived at the scene.

DUI - Ashley Michelle Woods, DOB 12/19/1988, of Fairbanks was arrested for DUI after she attempted to leave Dock Point in a vehicle that was not her own. Ms. Woods was transported to the Valdez Jail and subsequently refused to submit to a breath test. She was charged with DUI & Refusal. Ms. Woods was held at the jail until she sobered up.

Bear Incident - Animal Control officers kept an eye on a group of tourists who were watching bears on Dayville road for safety.

Found Property - A set of keys were turned in to the Valdez Police Department. If you have lost your keys, please stop by City Hall to claim them.

8-14-17 Valdez Fire responded to a possible fire call. The call was a result of an overheated dryer. The owners were advised to not use the dryer until the issue was corrected.

8-15-17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

8-16-17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual who had fallen into a fish hold on a vessel. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

8-17-17 Valdez EMS assisted with a medivac request.

8-18-17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

8-19-17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

8-19-17 Valdez EMS assisted with a medivac request.

8-19-17 Valdez EMS responded to a very intoxicated individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

8-20-17 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.
