04/02

Alarm – Burglar: Officers responded to a local business for the activation of an after hour burglar alarm. Employees at the business were contacted and all was okay.

Animal at Large: The Animal Control Officer assisted an individual with catching their dog that was running at large on the Richardson Highway.

Welfare Check: Officers conducted a welfare check on an individual following a report that they hadn’t been heard from in a few days and found that all was okay.

Trespassing: A concerned neighbor reported that 2 individuals were squatting at a recently vacated trailer and making all the residents in the area uncomfortable. Officers contacted the out of town owner of the trailer who stated that he would attempt to collect rent from the squatters and would be trying to reclaim the trailer at a later point in time.

04/03

Arrested: Rachelle Renee Krause, DOB 01/21/1981, of Valdez, was arrested on an outstanding $500.00 Valdez arrest warrant for Violating Conditions of Release for the original charge of Felony DUI.

Animal at Large: A caller reported that he was unable to get out of his vehicle as there was a loose pit bull dog preventing him from getting out. The Animal Control Officer contacted the owner who was given a verbal warning for Animal at Large.

Lost Property: A leopard print goggles case containing various credit cards and identification was lost somewhere in the Valdez area or in the vicinity of Thompson Pass. If found, please turn in to the VPD.

04/04

Civil Standby: Officers were requested for a civil standby during an eviction.

Animal at Large: A verbal warning was given to the owner of a dog found at large and reported to be bothering some children.

Possible Drunk Driver: A grey truck or SUV pulling a snowmachine trailer was reported to be driving erratically including going into the ditch and back onto the Richardson Highway. Officers contacted the driver who was negative for any alcohol consumption, but admitted to driving erratically.

04/05

Civil Dispute: During the investigation of a reported vehicle theft, Officers determined it was a civil, not law enforcement, issue.

Animal at Large: The Animal Control Officer issued a verbal warning for Animal at Large in the vicinity of Valdez Mobile Home Park.

Animal at Large: A verbal warning was issued to the owner of another dog found running at large in the vicinity of Valdez Mobile Home Park.

Animal at Large: The Animal Control Officer issued a verbal warning to the owner of another dog running at large in Valdez Mobile Home Park.

Welfare Check: A caller reported seeing a bicycle with lights flashing on the handlebars lying on the bike path near the Salmon Turnaround with no one in the vicinity. Responding Officers found the bicycle upright and being pedaled into town.

04/06

Suspicious Person: A suspicious looking “dude” with a flashlight was reported as pushing a cart around Dock Point Picnic Area. Officers contacted an individual who stated he was gathering drift wood.

MICS – Marijuana: Officers contacted an individual who was reported as smoking marijuana while in a vehicle in the parking lot of the courthouse. Officers determined the report was unfounded and no marijuana had been recently inhaled.

Suspicious Package: A caller reported seeing some suspicious looking debris while out walking their dog. Officers investigated and determined there was no cause for alarm.

Possible Drunk Driver: Officers responded to a REDDI report, but were unable to locate the vehicle in the area.

04/07

Disturbance – Noise: An extremely loud vehicle was reported as travelling up and down Homestead Road at a high rate of speed in the early morning hours. Officers made contact with an individual who was driving around looking for his missing dogs and advised him to avoid causing a disturbance to the neighbors.

Agency Assist: A concerned motorist reported that a fire engine was heading outbound on the Richardson Highway with approximately 200 feet of exposed hose dragging behind the unit. The fire department was notified.

Animal Impound: A small female golden colored mixed breed dog was taken to the Animal Shelter to be impounded after it followed an individual home in the Alpine Woods Subdivision and they were unable to locate the owner.

04/08

Disturbance – Other: A caller reported that their intoxicated neighbor just knocked on the door and asked them to call 911 before going back to their residence. Responding Officers determined that the individual was intoxicated and had EMS personnel evaluate him.

Domestic Disturbance: An anonymous complainant reported a possible domestic in progress. Responding Officers determined the incident started because of some text messages from an ex-girlfriend and was a verbal argument only, nothing physical.

Manslaughter: Multiple callers reported a truck ran over a woman in front of the Boardroom Bar and left the area headed outbound on the Richardson Highway.

Arrested: Ero Victor Walli, DOB 08/12/1971, of Valdez, was arrested and charged with Manslaughter, Operator to Give Information at Motor Vehicle Accident, Driving Under the Influence and Misconduct Involving Weapons. Mr. Walli provided a sample of his breath which yielded a breath alcohol content of .305 at the time of arrest.

Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual after her estranged husband couldn’t get in contact with her. Officers determined she was fine and notified the complainant.

Lost Property: A Samsung S7 with a grey case was reported lost somewhere in the Valdez area approximately two weeks ago. If found, please turn in to the Valdez Police Department.

4-2-18 Valdez EMS responded to a medivac request.

4-3-18 Valdez Fire Department responded to a fire outside a home at Robe River subdivision. The fire was extinguished upon arrival. The outside area and cause of the fire was investigated.

4-4-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

4-6-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

4-6-18 Valdez EMS responded to a medivac request.

4-7-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing assistance inside their residence.

4-8-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical assistance. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.
