The comical duo Jeff and Rhiannon will be performing an interactive dueling piano show this Saturday for the revamped scholarship fundraiser hosted by Prince William Sound Community College.

Prince William Sound Community College is attempting to put the fun back into fundraising for its annual scholarship fundraiser.

In a press release earlier this month, college president Daniel O'Connor said there are plenty of fundraiser dinners and auctions supporting good causes in Valdez, so the college will be "...taking a new approach."

Instead of catered dinners and high pressure auctions, the college will host a night of entertainment, featuring the renowned dueling piano show of Jeff and Rhiannon, billed as a musical comedy act.

"We wanted to give the community something they haven't seen before," he said in the written statement. "When PWSCC started the Fundraiser in 1993, it was specific to the college. Now there are many organizations with fundraising dinners with auctions."

The catered dinner concept is out and will be replace with light snacks according to the college.

Dueling pianos with Jeff and Rhiannon will entertain guests for this year's scholarship fundraiser put on by Prince William Sound Community College.

"The focus is on attendees having a good free-wheeling time, as opposed to being on a particular schedule," the college said. "Another major part of this is the absence of an auction this year. It has been replaced by door prizes that attendees will have a chance to win. Prizes have come in from all over the state, and include cruises, hotel rooms, dinners, spa treatments, and much more."

With the emphasis on fun, the dueling piano act promises a good time.

"We are an all-request, clap-a-long, sing-a-long, dance-a-long audience interactive pianos show," publicity on the group's promotional website at noteworthy productions says. "From the Big Bopper to Billy Joel, Bon Jovi to the Black Eyed Peas, we play it all."

The show is slated for this Saturday, April 11 at the Valdez Civic Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00. Tickets are $60 each and net proceeds will go towards the PWSCC Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for PWSCC students.
