The certified results of Tuesday's municipal elections in Valdez.

The official results were certified by the sitting city council during a special meeting held noon Wednesday.

Latecomer John Hozey - the former city manager who waged a last minute write-in campaign for a council seat - netted 141 votes after all ballots from the three precincts were hand counted after the polls closed Tuesday. Absentee and questioned ballots were counted and some included votes for Hozey.

Incumbents Dolores Gard and Dr. Kathy Todd, who ran unopposed for seats on the board of education, were both re-elected to three-year terms.

City council office terms are for two years.
