Obituary-Barbara L. Sandvik

Barbara L.Sandvik died Sept. 3, in Valdez.

She was born April 29, 1933 in Port Orchard, Wash.

Her husband and best friend wished to share some of her favorite quotes.

“We’re all travelers in this world, from the sweet grass to the packing house, birth till death, we travel between the eternities - amen.”

That was Robert Duvall, director of the movie Broken Trail.

It suited her well, as did another favorite: If you don’t take control of your life, life will take control of you.

She had another favorite posted on the refrigerator – in big block letters - as a reminder to her husband: If horses were wishes, beggars could ride.

She was survived by her husband Larry; brothers and sisters-in-law Barry and Sandy Mort; sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Bob Ham of Washington; sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Trudy McDonald, Sean and Kathy McDonald; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
