PUBLIC NOTICE

VALDEZ MUSEUM AND HISTORICAL ARCHIVE ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS – ONE VACANCY

One vacancy exists on the Valdez Museum and Historical Archive Association (VMHA) Board of Directors due to term expiration. Museum Board members are appointed by the Valdez Museum and Historical Archive Association Corporation (Valdez City Council).

The term of office for this appointment will be three years, expiring in January 2021. Individuals interested in serving are encouraged to apply.

Online applications may be submitted through the City’s boards and commission application portal at http://www.ci.valdez.ak.us/boardsandcommissions. Paper applications are available at City Hall and can be submitted by email to aferko@ci.valdez.ak.us or dropped off at the front desk of City Hall. Deadline for submission is Wednesday, January 31st at 5:00 p.m. for appointment by City Council on February 6th.

The VMHA Board is the Valdez Museum’s governing body and oversees the management and operation of the museum under contract with the City of Valdez. Appointments will be made on the basis of the candidate’s willingness to serve in an unpaid capacity, as well as a candidate’s experience and/or education that may support and enhance achievement of museum corporation goals to preserve community history and support community education programs.

Request for Qualifications

Project: Construction Management/Owner’s Representative Services

Project Number: Multiple

A. Overview

1. The purpose of this document is to solicit qualifications from professional consultants to provide construction management, owner’s representation and related professional services for a portfolio of City projects. Project specifics will be available on the city website - http://www.ci.valdez.ak.us/ . The suite of projects includes both horizontal and vertical construction. The City reserves the right to select qualified candidates and/or firms on a project by project basis that is most beneficial to the City. The Consultant will report to the respective City Project Manager and will be responsible for assisting with design development and value engineering where applicable. The period of performance begins with pre-construction and will continue throughout project completion. The anticipated duration will be for the 2018 construction season (roughly April through December).

Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned consultant firms to respond.
