Criminal Mischief: Complainant reported that someone had cut a chain gaining access to the Baler Facility. The chain was replaced and area secured.

Aggressive Animal: Caller reported that their dog had just been attacked by another dog. The owner of the dog was issued a citation by the Animal Control Officer.

03/06

Fish & Game: Caller reported a dead seagull was being eaten by ravens. The Animal Control Officer retrieved the seagull and properly disposed of it.

Juvenile Related Info: Officer was requested to assist Hermon Hutchens staff with an issue involving a student.

Agency Assist: Officers assisted the Adult Probation Officer with home visits.

MVA-Damage: A motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles was reported to have occurred in a parking lot. PAR forms were issued.

Parking Problems: Complainant reported that a vehicle was parked in front of a fire hydrant. The owner was contacted and moved the vehicle.

Agency Assist: Caller reported seeing a white sailboat that had run aground and was lying on its side; the caller stated there were two people aboard the sailboat. Dispatch contacted the Coast Guard who advised that they had a vessel out with the sailboat. The sailboat eventually made its way back into the harbor.


MVA-Damage: Caller reported that they had hit a moose near Keystone Canyon. Officers arrived in the area and found the moose about 100 yards from the road and watched it stand and walk away.

Assist EMS Crew: Officers arrived on scene to assist EMS with an adult female who had fell on the ice and hit her head.

Public Speaking/Appearance: A group of students from PWSC took a tour of the jail facility and dispatch center.

Traffic Complaint: Complainant reported a snow machine going through the park strip near the college. Officers located the snow machine and issued a warning to the driver for riding on the park strip.

Assist EMS Crew: Officers responded to the hospital to assist EMS.

Sounds of Shots Fired: Caller reported hearing a gunshot coming from the Mineral Creek area. Officers arrived in the area and were unable to determine where the gunshot had come from.

Abandoned Vehicle: A local business reported that a snow machine trailer loaded with pallets had been left behind the building; there was no license plate or other identifiers on the trailer. The trailer was towed.

Animal Impound: Caller reported a dog running at large near the basketball courts on Hanagita. The dog was retrieved and taken to the animal shelter.

Assist EMS: Officers arrived on scene to assist EMS with a 7 month old having a seizure.

Theft of Money: A local business requested officers to assist with an employee who had been found to be stealing money and merchandise. Case is under investigation.

03/09

Noise Disturbance: Complainant reported to have been woken up two nights in a row by people running around outside but when they go outside no one is there. Officers patrolled the area and were not able to make contact with anyone.

Traffic Complaint: Caller reported witnessing a truck run over a sign. Officers contacted the driver who admitted to sliding into the sign.

Aggressive Animal: Complainant reported that while walking their kids to the bus stop, two dogs chased after the kids. Caller stated it’s an ongoing issue, the dogs being allowed to run loose. Case was forwarded to the Animal Control Officer.

Serve Time: Jodicee Sawyer, DOB: 10/24/1996, of Glennallen, checked into the Valdez Jail to serve time on a DUI conviction.

Traffic Hazard: Caller reported contacting two people inside a vehicle on the side of the road. The caller also reported that the vehicle had been there for a couple of hours but they declined assistance. The vehicle was gone upon officer arrival.

Impeding Snow Removal: City snow removal requested officer’s assistance in contacting owners of vehicles parked on the street impeding snow removal.

Traffic Complaint: Complainant reported a vehicle driving recklessly, heading outbound on the highway. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

Animal Impound: A local business called to report they had a dog that had been running at large in the street. An officer retrieved the dog and took it to the animal shelter.

Suspicious Activity: Caller reported a vehicle parked at a local business with two people who looked to be trying to break into the building. Officers contacted the individuals who had permission to be at the business.

ETOH Pedestrian: Complainant reported an individual, who appeared to be intoxicated, walking inbound on the Tide Flats. Officers made contact with the individual and gave them a ride to their residence.

Animal at Large: Caller reported two dogs charged them and their dog. Officers located the dogs but were unable to retrieve them.

3-5-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

3-5-18 Valdez Fire Department inspected fire detectors at a mobile home.

3-7-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

3-7-18 Valdez EMS was requested at the hospital to assist with a patient.

3-7-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

3-8-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center

3-9-18 Valdez Fire Department investigated a fire from an earlier incident.

3-10-18 Valdez Fire Department responded to a possible propane leak on Mineral Creek Loop Road. Nothing was found.

3-11-18 Valdez EMS responded to a medivac request.

3-11-18 Valdez EMS responded to a public assistance for a child needing possible treatment.
