04/16

Welfare Check – VPD received a request for a welfare check on two young children at a residential daycare. Officers made contact with the caretakers and determined that the children were fine.

Found Property – A pocket knife was found at the middle school. This item may be claimed at the Police Department.

Animal Bite – Animal Control received a report of a dog bite. This case is under investigation.

Violating Conditions of Release – Dispatch received a call regarding two individuals that are currently out on conditions of release in which the caller believed that they were violating their conditions. After investigating it was found that they had not violated their conditions.

Motor Vehicle Accident – VPD dispatch received a report of a vehicle accident that had occurred on Wood Way.

04/17

Open Door – While on patrol an officer found an open door at a local business. The building was secured and the door was locked.

Animal at Large – A black lab was reported to be running loose on West Lowe. The responding officer could not locate the dog.

Animal Noise – Dispatch received a report of a dog barking. An officer responded but the dog was not barking when the officer arrived.

04/18

Agency Assist – Officers assisted the Fire Department on a residential fire.

Extra Patrol – A caller was concerned that an ex-boyfriend would show up at her residence while she was not at home. She has not had any problems since the report was made.

Possible Drunk Driver – A caller reported that a vehicle was driving very slowly and crossing over the yellow and white lines. Officers made contact with the driver who stated that she was following the speed limit. She was not intoxicated.

04/19

Noise Disturbance – VPD received a report that a woman was screaming in the neighborhood. Officers made contact with two individuals who were not forthcoming as to what was going on. One of the individuals were given a warning for Disorderly Conduct.


Neighbor Issues – An individual reported that his neighbors are throwing trash along his fence. Officers suggested that the caller contact his neighbor and talk to them.

Possible Drunk Driver – Dispatched received a report of a possible drunk driver. The caller stated that the driver of an older GMS truck was driving erratically and had driven into the ditch. Officers made contact with the driver who was clear of impairment.


Motor Vehicle Accident – A caller reported that his wife had hit a meter base. Participant forms were given to those involved.

Parking – While on patrol an officer received a report from a citizen that a person was parked in the handi-capped parking spot without property placards. Officers made contact with the driver who stated that they thought they were in the loading zone and would move.

Fish & Game – A caller reported that an eagle was outside a business eating a container of potatoes. The employees of the business were reminded to not feed the eagles.

Fraud – A local business reported that someone was calling homeowners claiming to be a representative of the business and demanding money for overdue bills.

04/21

Fish & Game – A report of an injured crow was received. The information was passed on to the Animal Control officer.

Civil Dispute – Several individuals are reporting that they have ownership papers to a local residence. None of the parties have yet provided legitimate paperwork.

Civil Dispute – A caller reported that she was trying to retrieve her belongings from a prior residence but the home owner would not let her. The owner had indicated that he didn’t want her in the residence but would leave her stuff outside.

Parking – A vehicle was reported to have been parked in the middle of the street for over a ½ hour. The responding officer located the vehicle which was parked alongside the road out of the way.

Minor Consuming – A juvenile was issued a citation for Minor Consuming after it was reported that he brought alcohol to a dance.

04/22

Welfare Check – An individual requested a check on his friend that he had not seen in over a week. Officers let him know that the individual was fine.

Suspicious Person – A caller reported a man across the street was acting suspicious. Officers did not make contact with anyone.

4-16-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

4-16-18 Valdez Fire Department responded to a possible propane leak. There was a small propane tank venting upon arrival. The tank was secured, and no additional propane readings were located in the home.

4-18-18 Valdez Fire Department responded to a trailer fire. The trailer was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Fire is under investigation.

4-20-18 Valdez EMS were on standby during the annual Hill Climb event.

4-20-18 Valdez Fire Department responded to a possible CO leak. The area was investigated and no CO readings were found.

4-20-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.

4-21-18 Valdez EMS responded to an individual needing medical attention from the Hill Climb event. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center.
